A word from our founder
In 2016, after health issues led to a career change, I dedicated several years to studying building biology, healthy living environments, and the impact of environmental toxins on inflammation.
I quickly realized that regulations for drinking water are minimal, slow to adapt, and often influenced by conflicts of interest. Our water contains numerous harmful substances, including neurotoxins and carcinogens—none of which are nutrients and all of which, even at low levels, negatively affect overall health.
At Cellthyhomes, we aim for the highest standard in water filtration: reverse osmosis. We’ve conducted a comprehensive review of global regulations, scientific literature, and regional risks within the UK to offer solutions that provide clean drinking water free from all harmful contaminants—not just some.

The state of UK tap water
The UK’s drinking water infrastructure is vast and complex, connecting over 50 million properties. Our tap water is sourced regionally from various locations, with about 30% coming from surface water and over 2,000 groundwater sources, including lakes, reservoirs, and aquifers.
After unfiltered water is collected, it is sent to treatment facilities for clarification, filtration, and chlorination. This treated water is then stored and pumped through a network of more than 400,000 miles of pipes.

Fluoride, a neurotoxin rather than a nutrient, is added to water for its potential dental benefits. Interestingly, it is also listed as a likely contaminant in DWI guidelines for private water supplies—posing the question: is it truly without potential danger? Not to mention the strong meta-analysis correlation between higher fluoride levels in drinking water and lower IQ in children.
Population growth and extreme weather conditions caused by climate change are also contributing to declining
water quality. Our groundwater and rivers are expected to continue deteriorating in the coming years. We haven’t built a new reservoir in the UK since 1992, and in that time, the population has grown by over 10 million.
